Jeddah — More than 190,000 residence permits (iqamas)
with a validity of four years have been issued free of charge
to members of the Burmese community under the
sponsorship of companies, establishments and individuals,
according to a report of the Standing Committee for the
rectification of the status of the Burmese.
The report was presented to Makkah Emir Prince Khaled Al-
Faisal here on Wednesday.
About 7,428 Myanmar nationals benefited from the
personal status courts to prove their marriage, parenthood
and guardianship.
The report showed that over 83,000 Myanmar nationals
were immunized against diseases like tuberculosis,
meningitis, common cold and tetanus, during their visit to
the status rectification offices.
